| Title: | Basin: Corinthian | |
| Category: | Pottery | |
| Description: | Fragmentary, but full profile preserved; restored in plaster. A broad deep basin, the wall convex in its lower half, almost vertical in upper half. Plain flat unthickened rim. At the base, the wall turns down vertically for a short distance and then ends in a plain thin lip; there is consequently no bottom, but an outlet or drain-hole formed by the bottom of the wall. Just below the vertical part of the upper wall, four grooves; at point where wall turns down to form drain-hole, two more grooves; below this latter set of grooves, a row of inverted triangles painted in black. Soft coarse yellowish clay with bits, slipped; the exterior surface much chipped. Cf. Agora XII, no. 1859. | |
