Revealed were Roman houses (North House and South House), drains and roads (East-West Road with two drains underneath it, and the Great Drain Bridge). In places where Roman structures had been destroyed, the excavation reached earlier periods (Early Roman, Hellenistic and 4th century B.C. remains).

Section ΝΝ: 1947 ... Rodney S. Young ... Excavation continued in section ΝΝ with the aim of clearing the area for the new museum. Because of the unforeseen depth of filling, the area remained unfinished. Several features were dug and examined ... 10 Mar-3 Nov 1947 ... The Great Drain and the Post-Sullan Drain were cleared out throughout their length within the section, as was the Late Roman Water Channel running under the Roman Bath, which was proved to have two periods of use. A second Roman Bath was found. The two baths were separated by a street overlying Drain A. The excavation of several houses continued.

Two of them had been removed during earlier campaigns. Excavations manage to establish the outline of the four houses, ... 9 Apr-7 Jul 1951 ... Excavations manage to establish the outline of the four houses, dating from the 10th to the 13th centuries A.D., before cleared away to expose Roman levels. The demolition of Byzantine walls and street levels gave many architectural fragments from the Temple of Ares, and also several inscriptions. Two monument bases that had stood along the west side of the Great Drain were found beneath the Byzantine debris.

Some pottery indicate habitation in the area from the Geometric period. Two shallow graves of the 6th and 5th centuries ... 27 May-21 Jun 1946 ... A Roman period water channel and a drain were uncovered, and a well, "The Amphora Well", was dug. Roman House A was excavated and four rooms were revealed. A late Roman well was partly excavated.

Work in Section ΟΟ was concentrated on the east and west ends of the north side of the section: parts of the ancient east-west street were explored; ca 20 meters of the Great Drain was clearly exposed; remains of a house (House E) from the 4th century and Hellenistic period, with cistern (Cistern A), water storage tank and a well (Well I) were found; the Roman Bath (Building A and Hypocaust area) was further explored, and a well in the central court (Well II) dug out; a trial cut was dug in a long, narrow poros building with a large open yard and a series of small rooms; and an early Geometric grave was found and excavated.
