Large plate with rolled rim. Beginning of lug or handle at left edge of fragment. Hard, light gray fabric (5Y 7/1) containing abundant fine sand and a few larger black and red ... Late Roman context ... They were originally inventoried as faïence (see Lucas 1962, pp. 156--157 for the many varieties of that material), but the fabric is less uniform than is usual for faïence. |
