| Artifacts, burnt bone, ash, cinders and charcoal in pit in bedrock. The pyre lay directly under mosaic floor A. the deposit is not badly disturbed, however, and it is possible that it was laid immediately ... Early second quarter of 4th c. B.C ... The pyre was probably burnt in situ; pots rested on a thick layer of burning, and fragments of burnt earth were found in the pit. some charcoal as large as ca. 0.03m in diameter is preserved, and bits of burnt matter were found in the lekanis. |
| Pocket, identified as sacrificial pyre by SIR. Possibly disturbed. Outside south wall of building. Concentration of pottery in a small pocket below a "Hellenistic" fill. There is no mention of bone or ... First quarter 4th c. B.C ... A miniature black glazed lekanis (P 1465) and a small one-handler accompany the saucers and plates and the miniature chytra (P 1470). |

Well ΑΒ located on the lower terrace to the north of the sanctuary(diameter 1.10m). Foot-holes were cut into the shaft at intervals of ca. 0.40m. | Disturbed pyre dispersed in fill of Room 5, House D.
Pyre pots in very fragmentary condition were noticed by Barbara Tsakirgis in later analysis of pottery that had been excavated in 1938; no mention of ... 14 June 1938 ... It is likely that more than one pyre is involved: the two rilled-rim plates do not match and there are three lekanis lids (rarely does a pyre contain more than two lekanides). |
Disturbed "Votive Deposit" at 27-28/ΙΖ-ΙΗ
Reddish fill in five circular cutting in bedrock, considered by the excavators to have been one deposit. Fill was disturbed in later periods, probably by construction ... 7th c. B.C, with intrusions ... Archaic fine ware:
Black figure; black glazed miniature skyphos; aryballos; lekanis lid; banded olpe; skyphos, Corinthian type.

Well in Coletti Garden.
Diameter 1m. There were no traces of hand holes in its walls. At 5.2m depth below datum on the S-E side of the shaft, a small underground stream emptied into the well. The stratigraphy ... Ca. 425-400 B.C ... Fine ware:quantities similar to black glaze catalogued pieces; panathenaic amphorae, two lower body fragments; lekanis, one fragment with..pattern on exterior of rim; black glaze oinochoe fragments; fragments of a black glaze psykter; fragments of striped lekanai. |
| Pyre in House N, room 4 (RSY=Pyre 7), in the industrial area west of the Areopagus.
Pottery, mall pieces of calcined bone, log, wood cinders, and charcoal in diamond-shaped pit in floor sequence. The pyre ... Late 4th-early 3rd c. B.C ... This is one of the largest pyres (more than one pyre lekanis, four chytridia, four ribbon-handled plates, all of them made up of two pairs). |

Associated with the building lying under the Roman Street Stoa. Its fills divided into 5 separate layers, with the bulk of finds belonging to Layer 1, the ... 14 June-21 August 1973 ... An additional 212 tins were thrown; these included 46 tins of lekanis fragments, 50 tins of roof tiles, 87 tins of amphora fragments, 7 tins of mortar fragments, 2 tins of lopas fragments, 4 tins of eschara fragments, 4 tins of basins and tubs in fragments, and 11 tins of assorted coarse ware fragments. |
