The potting lines and the beginning of the downturn on the underside make clear that this fragment comes from a large flat lid, similar perhaps to the one in Princeton (86.34) attributed by Guy to Syriskos, which covered a dinos or a lebes gamikos and depicts the centauromachy with Kaineus. |
