[Agora Object] I 5885: Grave Stone

The block is re-used and served originally perhaps as the plinth for a monument. Its uninscribed face was scooped out in antiquity, apparently to lighten the stone. At either end of the left long edge ... 18 June 1939 ... Found as cover slab of the 19th. century grave XXXIV, in the cella of the Hephaisteion.
