West Terrace, South End, Layers IV and V. Heavy dumped filling associated with terrace walls at the extreme south end of the excavations in the Areopagus industrial area. The proportion of figured and ... Ca. 420-390 B.C ... The proportion of figured and good glazed fragments is unusually high, including cups, squat lekythoi and other vases in greater part of the last two decades of the 5th. c. but with some material that goes back into the first quarter of the 5th. c. and a little that continues into the early years of the 4th. |

Grave 2 in notebook. The burial was destroyed by the digging of Pit A, at the edge of which was found a mass of sherds belonging to the grave amphora. Among the sherds were found small cups, fragments ... Late Geometric ... Among the sherds were found small cups, fragments of a skyphos, and a kantharos, together with a few remnants of a small child's skeleton. |
Well at 67/ΛΓ on the northeast slope of the Areopagus. Connected with the same cistern system as O 20:2.
Dug as several fills but probably a continuous accumulation Coin
28 May 1938 #1 (?) Illegible N ... 300-250 B.C ... Drinking cups advanced over those in level I, but absence of mold-made bowls suggests material no later than ca. 225. |
