Small fragment from face of drum preserving parts of three flutings; broken on all other sides. The arris brought to an edge as sharp as the material permitted. Surface finished with toothed chisel. Surface ... 12 August 1952 ... Found near S.E. corner of Commercial Agora in front of South Stoa imbedded in 3rd century A.D. floor of Square (15.00m. from East Stoa, 5.00m. from South Stoa).

Intact save for end of nose and ancient chip from right ear and recent chips from hair and left ear. Socket for fitting into body rough-picked; carried up high in back of neck. Hair in marked waves above ... Julio-Claudian period ... Thompson's account attached to the card: Found in the S.E. corner of the east stoa of the Commercial Agora, immediately north of the Church of the Holy Apostles, in a level of the second half of the 3rd c.
