Fragment a) made from three fragments: lower part of woman, in chiton and himation, left; facing her, seen in three-quarters view, Hermes, lower part preserved. Behind Hermes, at the upper left corner ... 26 May 1954 ... Below the scene, part of palmette band. ... Fragment c): part of draped figure right and behind it small part of drapery and a woman's hand (another figure). The scene, among others, might have been a wedding pair on chariot (e.g. Black figure amphora BM, CVA, pl. 38, 1a by the Amasis painter, Zeus, Hera wedding); or Apotheosis of Herakles (e.g. black figure amphora BM, CVA, pl. 40, 1b).

[Agora Object] P 5220: Red Figure Loutrophoros Fragment

A single fragment, mended from nine pieces, from just below the shoulder. At the top, a wreath of small leaves, with berries between the leaves. Parts of four figures preserved; left to right: the bride ... 16-19 March 1935 ... His head overlaps the wreath-border of the scene. Of her figure only the left arm resting on his shoulder and some parts of the drapery preserved. Behind them, two wedding guests, the first shown in three-quarter view.

Two non-joining wall fragments, a with start of return, unglazed on inside. Max. dim. a) 0.104, b) 0.024. LIMC IV, 1988, p. 929, no. 5, s.v. Erechtheus. Athena and Hephaistos. Fragment a preserves Athena ... Ca. 470-460 B.C ... Brommer (Hephaistos, p. 23) raises the possibility that the theme on 67 is the Birth of Erechthonios, a scene in which Hephaistos appears, but not with his double axe, an instrument better suited to the Birth of Athena. ... In one scene, a fragmentary bell-krater in Salonika, 272 (LIMC IV, p. 931, no. 17), where the identification of the scene is not completely ascertained, although probable, Hephaistos holds out a crucible (best seen in AAA 5, 1972, p. 453, fig. 2). ... A better possibility is that the subject may be the Wedding of Peleus and Thetis.
