Torch race. At the left ... Late 5th century B.C ... At the left are the lower part of the shaft and a corner of the base of a goal post; then the lower legs and feet of a youth to right, holding a lighted torch (shaft), facing another (a bit of body). A non-joining unlettered fragment (not illustrated) shows the lower leg and frontal foot as well as the tip of a lighted torch (this figure is probably to the left of the goal post), and another (not illustrated) gives the upper right corner of the panel. |

Another with the nose of a horse, a third has a portion of the goal post and the inscription: , probably to be restored ... 360-359 B.C ... Another with the nose of a horse, a third has a portion of the goal post and the inscription: , probably to be restored as ΚΑΛΛ]ΙΜΗΔΗΣ ΑΡ[ΧΩΝ (360-359 B.C.).

Wall fragment from just below rim. Narrow reserved band on inside near top. Most of the glaze on the inside fired reddish. A few scratches on outside. Max. dim. 0.075.

Beneath the handles, half palmettes with volutes to either side. A little preserved of both figured scenes. On one side, a pair of feet left, then ... 9-10 April 1954 ... On one side, a pair of feet left, then a jug, set on the ground, and next to the handle ornament the base of a goal post. On the other side, a pair of feet, right.

At the left, one raised foreleg of a horse galloping to right, then the goal post. Next come the hindquarters and barrel of another horse, also to right. |
