Conical relief. At the top, Orpheus, seated on a rock, a lyre in his left hand, his locks curling to his shoulders, drapery over his knees. Around him the animals: bear, lions and smaller creatures.

Mended from many fragments with the missing pieces restored in plaster and painted. Upper half of body missing to either side of handle A/B. Narrow reserved band on inside at rim; another 0.04 below rim ... Ca. 430 B.C ... LIMC VII, 1994, p. 84, cat. no. 10, pl. 58, s.v. Orpheus.
A, Orpheus and two Thracians (illustrated). ... In front of Orpheus stands a similar Thracian (lower part of cloak, feet) with two spears. ... Orpheus (M.-X. Garezou).
