Handle. Lower part of handle. Vertical, double-grooved strap handle. Trace of orange glaze on wall below handle. Soft, somewhat coarse, very micaceous, reddish yellow fabric (5YR 6/6) with red and white ... Context of 250-175 ... Similar to handles of 1503, 1514. Cf. Body. Flange chipped; body partly restored. Ring foot; rounded resting surface; convex underside. Slight flange at bottom of wall. Body slopes inward towards top. Inset rim. Decoration in orange glaze ... Context of 115-86 ... Hard, fine, somewhat micaceous, light red fabric (2.5YR 6/6); hard, dull, very pale brown slip (10YR 8/4) over entire exterior and inside rim. Cf. Most of handle and parts of foot, underside, and body restored. Low foot; flat resting surface; flat underside with some string marks still visible. Straight lower body, convex shoulder. Tapering neck ... 150-110? (Roman context) ... Same shape and decoration as 1528--1532. Cf.
