The fragment preserves the raised, bent right arm ... Ca. 510-500 B.C ... Max. dim. 0.074. Fight(?). The fragment preserves the raised, bent right arm of a figure to left, with hand holding a thin object, which may be the shaft of a spear (there are two parallel relief lines) with the glaze slopped over. ... The presence of traces of the handle configuration indicates that the warrior stood at the far right of the composition, perhaps as a back-up force to a fight taking place at the left.

Mended with small missing pieces restored in plaster and painted, handle B/A completely modern. Glaze flaked slightly on outside. Top of rim reserved. H. 0.103; diam. of rim 0.29; diam. of tondo 0.113; ... Ca. 510-500 B.C ... In front of him: Uneven reserved line for tondo border. A, fight. A warrior (a bit of torso missing) comes in from the left, spear poised. ... Then comes the last pair, a youth in a short chiton rushes in to fight, sword in right hand, left arm with hand fisted outstretched toward his opponent, who falls backward, sword in right hand, shield (overlapped by handle) on left arm seen in profile.

A large cup of type B, mended from many pieces; one handle, much of stem and fragments elsewhere missing. Part of ancient lead mend at top of stem preserved. Interior: Within a reserved circle, athlete ... 31 May 1954 ... Inscription around: Exterior: A) and B) Fight. On each side there are two pairs in single combat, with a warrior at center between the two pairs.

GN 15, pl. 21 (P 110 is mispoised) ... Ca. 450 B.C ... Upper zone: fight. P 110 shows a warrior (most of helmeted head, a little of left arm with round shield seen in three-quarter view from the inside) to right, attacking another with a spear.

The scene on 237 might also illustrate the fight between Diomedes and Aineas: cf. the namepiece of the Tyszkiewicz Painter, Boston 97.368 (ARV2 290, 1; Paralip. 355, 1; Addenda 210), though this seems less likely.

Fifteen non-joining fragments of wall, P 18278 b--c and P 19582 a--d of torus rim with zone of ornament below. Glaze mottled here and there; has a greenish cast in places; abraded in part on rim. Max ... Ca. 480 B.C ... Fragment g (illustrated) probably gives the top part of her head with diadem and forelock, or that of another, perhaps Thetis (see below: discussion of composition and subject). B, fight. P 19582 e (illustrated) shows part of a bent right arm of a warrior about to deliver a death blow to an opponent whose helmet crest appears above the lower break. ... A technical feature links these two fragments with the fight fragment, P 19582 e, namely, the presence of very thin lines incised in the glaze on the inside, a rather common occurrence on such vases, but which does not appear on the three fragments assigned to Side A (such lines do not always continue around the entire inside).
