To left, a box from which hangs a long taenia, and part of a round object, and part of a round ... 13 July 1937 ... from which hangs a similar scarf, both these objects no doubt carried by an approaching figure, whose fingers appear to be indicated by the three strokes which appear beneath the pot.

Rim and wall fragment.
From a large deep basin. Plain rim, rolled horizontal handle; around wall at level of handle-attachment a sharp raised ridge. Cooking ware fired very hard and somewhat blackened ... Context ca. 575-540 B.C ... A fragment catalogued here as a storage bin, 1544, Pl. 68, might come from a similar pot. Such objects could have more than one use; possibly sometimes they served as coal carriers; they would also do for baking bread. |
Mended from two pieces; a little of the shoulder preserved, with the tips of an ivy pattern; and about half the upper part of the body. Riding right is a boy carrying a spear; on his back hangs a crescent ... August-September 1932 ... The boy following also carries a spear and some uncertain objects (pieces of armour?).
