In shape resembles the slim Knidian type; part of rim preserved bent outward and rolled. Whole handle crossed by a series of fine cracks.
Fairly fine red clay with greyish ring round core; thick crteam ... Hellenistic ... Msc: SS 01310 seems to be other hdl of same pot (same crackling);
same die anyway; it's chipped, but the srf is bet; both prob from same
(or closely related) die as SS 00885(VG)*

Single fragment preserving entire hand and wrist save for the fingertips.
Fasciaed, relief beaded garment preserved only on backside of wrist. Garment is mostly red, except at the cuff where there is a ... July 26 1994 ... The hands makes a fist with the thumb resting on top of the index finger and probably held a rein, which would have been inserted separately into the hole made between the fingers and the palm. |

The figure sits with the left ... 18 March 1937 ... It had been chemically stripped and looks somewhat different from 'before treatment' photo on front of blue index card (female head with long curling locks) but shape and size correspond, as do white corrosion spots on pitted chin. |
