Mended from many pieces. Surface greatly damaged and in many places entirely gone leaving a yellow-greenish core with small dark pits in it. Nose, part of upper lip, lower part of face including the beard, ... 2 May 1953 ... The background of the helmet is covered with the same colors, except of one Pegasus on each side and a reserved band at its lower edge on the neck. ... A small piece of clay above the nose near the left eyebrow suggests that there was probably a piece of the helmet coming down over the nose, a rather unusual feature for the Attic helmet. The helmet came down low over the eye brows.
