There remains only a sliver from the lower outer edge of the base. Identical in profile with A 1151 (ΟΔ 194) but heavily weathered; hence from an outside round freestanding column and to be associated ... June 1948 ... Brought in from S.W. corner of Odeion where presumably it was found; traces of hard mortar show that it had been incorporated in the foundation of the Gymnasium Complex.

Found in late Roman Road Fill, between the Stoa of Attalos and the Gymnasium north porch; with coins nos. 5-18 for the day.

Inscribed base. The block has clearly been re-used for there are two square dowel holes on the inscribed face. The right face has a recessed panel but no letters visible; a place where they might be expected ... 2nd.-1st. centuries B.C ... Found in the western end of the Gymnasium north porch, in area presumably excavated.

Broken all around and behind. On the front, in relief, the trunk of an olive tree with leaves beginning to show at the top of the fragment as preserved. Head, set in socket, missing. Feet and lower part of drapery broken off; likewise all of right shoulder, arm and chest, left hand missing. Standing male figure wearing loose himation, one end of which ... 16 March 1937, 24 July 1965 ... The body was found in a late Roman fill, just west of great drain, with coin for the day (# 25); the fragment with the feet were built into the foundation of a water collecting basin near the southeast corner of the late Roman gymnasium; probably late 5th or 6th century A.D.
