Man or woman (draped legs) seated to left, holding a staff or spear (part of shaft), accompanied by a lion (head and neck) ... Probably late 5th century B.C ... The composition may have looked something like the one on an unattributed neck-amphora found at Delos, 59 A: there a woman sits on a rock to left next to which a lion brings down a deer; before her is another woman, also to left (Délos XXI, pl. 23).
