Two other similar lids are P 18344 and P 18896 (Hesperia 20 (1951), pl. 72:7,2), but these with heads at somewhat smaller scale, within a frame of chevrons.

Probably ... 12 June 1937 ... Decoration in matte black; two bands below lip; a band at shoulder and one above base; on upper wall a band of dot rosettes and spirals, interrupted by panels of vertical chevrons. The smaller piece is burnt to a greenish gray.

Total of 16 fragments, now preserving almost complete skyphos. Flat disk base preserving string marks. Rim slightly flaring, with plain rounded lip; horizontal ... 27 June 1952 ... Handle zone decorated with vertical stripes (rather than zigzag) except near handle, where there appear to be careless chevrons. One of the new joining fragments preserves a slight dent made prior to firing.
