Lip and bowl fragment. Max. dim. 0.045. A, nude youth (most of filleted head, back, left arm) seen from the back, perhaps a diskobolos. Preliminary sketch. Relief contour. Dilute glaze: muscles. Red: ... Ca. 480 B.C ... Manner of the Antiphon Painter (Addenda and Corrigenda, p. 915 to ARV2 one 234--237; not in ARV2).

[Agora Object] Agora XXX, no. 1368

Floor fragment with concentric circles on underside. Glaze fired slightly brownish. Max. dim. 0.049. I, youth (head, outstretched left arm, a bit of his left leg) with a javelin. Relief contour. The ... Ca. 480-470 B.C ... The athlete on 1368 may have looked very similar to the one on the exterior of Philadelphia 2444 in the manner of the Antiphon Painter (ARV2 344, 64; Addenda 220).

[Agora Object] Agora XXX, no. 1537

Floor fragment. Line on outside, probably from stacking in kiln. Max. dim. 0.048; est. diam. of tondo 0.09. I, youth (back of head, left shoulder and arm) to left. Reserved line for tondo border. Preliminary ... Ca. 500 B.C ... What remains of the youth on 1537 is closest to the young athlete scraping himself on Richmond 63.11 by the Antiphon Painter (ARV2 1646, 13 bis; Paralip. 521, 13 bis; Addenda 218). 1537 does not have an ornamental tondo border, and this probably rules out an attribution to this painter.

Wall fragment. Some of the glaze drawing flaked. Max. dim. 0.055. E. Vanderpool, Hesperia 15, 1946, p. 288, cat. no. 58, pl. 34. Youthful trainer (neck to hips, outstretched right arm) standing to left, ... Ca. 490-480 B.C ... Manner of the Antiphon Painter (ARV2 one 237, 81); may be by the painter himself (ARV2 347, 115).

[Agora Object] Agora XXX, no. 207

Wall fragment from slightly below maximum diameter. Max. dim. 0.075. Agora XXVII, p. 167, cat. no. 2, pl. 31. Youth or man (torso, start of thighs, beginning of right arm) leaning far forward to right ... Ca. 500-480 B.C ... Philadelphia 2444 in the manner of the Antiphon Painer (ARV2 344, 64; Addenda 220) and Hamburg 1900.518 by the Briseis Painter (ARV2 407, 11; Paralip. 371, 11; Addenda 232). Conceivably, he might be a jumper in a position similar to that of the one on a skyphos in Salerno by the Triptolemos Painter, 1131 (ARV2 367, 103). Another possibility is that he is kneeling and looked something like the left youth on side A of Villa Giulia 50430 by the Antiphon Painter (ARV2 340, 62; Paralip. 361, 62; Addenda 218).
