A flake from the lower outer part of a base drum preserving parts of two flutes. Lower part of flute (0.07m.) finished delicately with the drove, upper part more carelessly. This would account for the marked difference in the quality of workmanship between the start on this fragment (as also on the capitals A 2006 and A 2926) and that on the upper parts of the shaft as on this fragment and on A 2096 and A 2927.

Fragment a ... Ca. 490-480 B.C ... This position of her spear would also account for the defensive gesture of her opponent, who appears slightly lower in the composition.

The base has been hacked away on top and in the back; great, rough cuttings extend from the central rectangular cutting on the top, presumably made when the base was first cut, to support what ever stood ... 4th c. B.C ... The block has been at least once reused, perhaps as a tethering stone for cattle (this would account for the hacking and for the rope marks).

Twelve non-joining fragments of lip and bowl. Fragment f preserves the start of the stem on the underside. Start of handle on fragment i. Reserved line on inside at rim. Max. dim. a) 0.133, b) 0.071, c/g) ... Ca. 450-440 B.C ... Examination of the fragments on both the inside and the outside suggests a quite different arrangement, for one has to account for the proper positioning of the figures in each composition as well as the ornament at the handle, and this does not allow much leeway.

Fifteen non-joining fragments of wall, P 18278 b--c and P 19582 a--d of torus rim with zone of ornament below. Glaze mottled here and there; has a greenish cast in places; abraded in part on rim. Max ... Ca. 480 B.C ... His left arm and hand are hidden beneath the garment, the hand probably clasping a bunch of the material (his covered fist overlaps his right elbow at the break); this would account for the fall of folds at the far left of P 6103 (see below).
