Title:   Head of Asklepios

Description:   Battered bearded male head, broken at neck. Long hair held in place by circular fillet on back of head; part of second fillet preserved on forehead. Just below head, drill marks clearly visible on hair and head. Placement and carving of eyes asymmetrical; seems to be looking up. Nose and mustache battered. Hair on top and back of head extending down to break.
Shallowly carved and fairly flat.
White marble.
Conservation Status:   Finished
Context:   South of modern mill wall and curved late Roman wall. Layer III A, Bucket 37.
