| Description: | Top of head to base of neck preserved. Head is battered, eyes preserved, right cheek and chin sheared away. Half life-size female head with mantle worn back on her head. Head carved in very high relief with part of background and folds of mantle over head preserved. Head turned three-quarters to her right, seen nearly in profile and looking up; possibly a seated figure suggested by the turn of the head. Hair thick and impressionistically defined; eyes shallowly carved, deep in socket. Pentelic marble. | |
