Title:   Grave Relief Fragment with Female Figure on Klismos
Category:   Sculpture
Description:   Female figure preserved from shoulders to ankle, seated on klismos facing right with area of background plane on left of chair and thick molding below chair. Back of relief weathered and uneven, not the original surface or thickness.
Figure in chiton and mantle defined by a few chisel strokes - 4th century in proportion and style. By cutting back background plane on left chair is in higher relief, which is odd and awkward; below chair between legs is an odd acanthus ornament, possibly Byzantine. Both the deeper cut background plane and acanthus could be later reworking.
