Title:   Draped Seated Female Figure Fragment: Mother of the Gods

Description:   Head, right arm, feet and chips of figure and seat missing.
Seated in Mother of Gods attitude, but without attributes. Doric chiton and cloak with heavy fold drawn over knees and falling down left side of leg.
Rectangular seat with two plain moldings, horizontal, on both sides near top, and similar single vertical molding along front of sides. Back of seat partly preserved behind figure.
White marble.

Context:   From earlier excavations; then placed in colonnade in front of Shop XVI, (the north end of Stoa of Attalos).
