Title:   Pyramidal Loom Weight: Stamped
Description:   Equal sides.
Stamp on top: dancing satyr (?) krater in left hand. The figure facing right is that of an emaciated, grotesque man (not a satyr) with abnormally large head, protruding belly, and knee joints prominent on his thin legs. He appears to be bearded, but is otherwise nude. He is dancing grotesquely, left leg raised high, right hand on hip, left hand holding a 5th century black glaze skyphos by the base (Attic type). The figure fits neatly into the oval surface. Same as PNW 59.
Glaze: red-black, to within 0.015 of bottom.
Clay: orange, with little mica.
Context:   Assembly Place, filling of Period III.
