| Description: | Double flower medallion, overlapping leaves. Most of the rim and fragments of the wall missing. Medallion: Double rosette enclosed by a scraped groove in red wash. Calyx and Wall: Covered by bands of overlapping leaves increasing in size towards the top. The Upper Zone: Comprises a band of net alternating with double herring-bone pattern and double spirals above surmounted with leaves having a dolphin at either side. A reserved line in faded red wash below the rim. Clay: Pale pinkish, buff. Glaze: Firm glaze somewhat worn, fired brown to black on exterior, black with small chips on interior. | |
