| Title: | Red Figure Krater Fragment | |
| Description: | Fragment from upper wall, with bit of outturn of rim. Two fiures, a satyr, and a female figure, left. The satyr wears a skin over one shoulder, a fillet with spike ornaments, and a bracelet; the woman has two long blob ornaments in her hair. The satyr holds a wreath in his outstretched right hand. White with yellow overpainting for the woman's flesh; her drapery of which bit may be preserved close to the break, appears to have been reserved. White, faded for hair ornaments, bracelet and wreath. This sherd, like very many others, illustrates the fact that the white is reasonably firm when applied on a clay ground, but very perishable when set over glaze. | |
