| Description: | Mended from two pieces. A woman wearing a peplos with overfold and embroidered bodice moves right, looking back left. In either hand she carried a large box, from which hangs long, embroidered taeniae. She is followed by Eros, flying right, and carrying in his left hand an object from which hangs a taenia. Uncertain objects behind him. Dotted egg on flat edge of rim, bordered from outside by a reserve groove. Underneath the flat edge is moulded; Black, except a reserved band in the middle and another at the inner vertical surface of the rim. Reserved broad groove around centre, where hole for the lost ring handle. No relief contour. White for Eros' body. Added color, now gone, for his wings, object, and taenia. Added clay for his fillet, for a 'jewel' on top of one of the chests, and for the woman's hair ornaments and earring. | |
