| Description: | Intact except for narrow slit on shoulder. Small disk foot, rounded body, short neck, slightly flaring cutaway spout, handle round in section. Decorated with dull orange-brown glaze in bands around foot, base of neck and rim. Five linked spirals on shoulder and ivy leaves (?) around handle. Coarse dark pinkish-buff clay with inclusions. Buff creamy slip. Soil sample saved (see conservation file). Addenda 2024: Fine reddish yellow (7.5YR 7/6) micaceous fabric with a fair amount of small to medium sub-angular pale orange and rare medium to large rounded reddish-brown inclusions. Boeotian? Handmade. LH IIA (Shape: Mountjoy 1981, no. 152, p. 29,; motif: Mountjoy 1981, no. 145, p. 28, fig. 13:145). | |
