Title:   Black Figure Cup Fragment

Description:   Broken at both sides and below. Fragment from the rim of a cup. Reserved line on inside of lip. Outside of lip glazed to ca. 0.026m., reserved band below with black figure scene. At left, part of a gaming table, with pieces on top. To the right a figure crouches over the table, one hand (right?) extended to pieces on table. A second figure immediately behind, watching over the player's shoulder. Both figures are bearded males. Player dressed in purple chiton, spectator in black himation decorated with dots and purple border. In field behind, a comment on the course of play. At exteme right, part of the stool and back of the player of another game? Black mantle with red rosettes. Fine workmanship, incised details.
