Title:   Black Glaze Stemless Cup: Stamped

Description:   Mended. Both handles, much of rim restored in plaster. Moulded ring foot, ribbed body (incised), out-turned lip. Reserved: underside with two glazed bands, two circles and dot. Scraped groove at juncture of foot and wall. Decoration within: row of ovules around 18 linked palmettes, around a row of ovules, around 8 linked palmettes around a row of ovules, around four ovules set to form a rosette.
Good black glaze. Buff clay.

Handling:   From the general form: It must be made sure that whenever handling the objects they are fully supported from all sides; the absence of restoration makes them more prone to breakage if handled carelessly.
