| Description: | About half of top and part of side preserved. Rounded rim, set off by groove, projecting; top nearly flat. Around wall, Σ-pattern between bands. The top is apparently covered by a large female head, wearing a kerchief; part of the back of the head and the neck preserved. Glaze inside good black; outside, dull and much peeled. Considerable remains of red wash. Two other similar lids are P 18344 and P 18896 (Hesperia 20 (1951), pl. 72:7,2), but these with heads at somewhat smaller scale, within a frame of chevrons.
