Above foot, tall rays alternating with rays ending in spirals, the spiral-tipped rays starting somewhat above the ground line of the plain rays. Just below shoulder a broad glazed band, bound below and above by three (or four) narrow glazed lines. Around shoulder, a double row of large roughly oval slanting loops, linked together except at center. Just below neck, a pair of narrow glazed lines. On neck, face A) traces of spiral and a diagonal; face B) alternating hanging and standing solid rays. A pair of narrow lines to either side of the ornament, next to the handles. Traces of glazed lines on handle. Two mending holes in lower wall. Very soft pinkish-buff clay, with remains of lighter surfacing; many impurities. Streaky red to black glaze, much worn. | |
