| Description: | Most of the body, and both handles, restored; profile complete. Flaring conical base and ribbed stem (three ribs); deep pointed body and short rim, slightly flared. Vertical handles restored (horizontal ones impossible as there would be traces of attachments). Completely glazed except for rim and edge of base, which is banded with three lines. A square panel reserved at the center, front and back, below the rim: panels divided into nine squares, of which the central and corner ones are decorated with checkerboard or zigzag, the other four are reserved and dotted. The inside glazed, with a reserved line at the rim and dot at the center of the floor. Buff clay grayed by fire; thick solid black glaze, rather dull. | |
