Title:   Plate Fragment with Paint Decoration

Description:   Single fragment preserves about one-third of foot and floor, and part of wall. Plain low ring foot, flaring wall. On floor, two grooves over position of foot. Interior decoration in pale reddish-purple paint, on the unglazed clay surface, in a design of thick stripes (originally four in number?) radiating from the center; along each side of each stripe a series of small dashes set at an oblique angle.
Light pinkish-buff clay of fine quality; on the interior, marks of turning still visible; on the exterior worked smooth and carefully polished.
