Description:   Intact except for chips from rim. Rounded bottom, irregular inverted pear-shaped body, high sloping shoulder. Thick short rounded handles from neck to shoulder. Body and shoulder covered with bands of horizontal grooves and ridges.
Scratched on either side of shoulder: <graphic>
Thick red slightly micaceous clay, covered with a thin light red wash. On upper parts of body and shoulders a buff slip. Out of mouth and down one side, either side of a handle, has flowed some dark substance, originally contained in the jug; another splash of this substance on front of jug: from waterproofing of the inside?
