| Description: | Handle of a pitcher. Red brown on buff. ADDENDA 2018: Single sherd to a large closed shape with flaring, slightly hollowed rim and a tall vertical oval-section handle. The exterior decoration consists of a narrow lip band. The base of the handle is outlined with a medium band. The exterior of the handle is outlined with a medium band and a vertical wavy line runs down the handle. The paint is thick and evenly applied, fired dark red. There are no traces of burning. The upper part of the handle is more worn than the base, likely from handling. On the side of the handle there is a possible potter's mark formed from too joined dots of paint (this same mark appears on the deep bowl bases as well). Furumark Motif 1: 53 | |
