| Category: | Pottery | |
| Description: | Handle attachment of a closed vase. Brown - black on buff. ADDENDA 2018: Single sherd to a closed shape with a single partially preserved vertical oval-section handle preserved. The exterior decoration consists of at least two medium bands running below the handle zone. There are two tails extending from either side of the handle, which would have formed spirals on the belly below. The exterior of the handle has a probable X, although the intersection of the two lines is not preserved. The bottom of the handle is pierced to aid in firing. The paint is thick, evenly applied, and fired black. There are no traces of use-wear or burning. There is a single dot on the side of the handle, which appears to be a potter's mark of the usual type. Furumark Motif 1: 55 | |
